Figure out which IF pattern you will follow
Just like everything else out there with weight loss, you should figure out which intermittent fasting pattern works for you. Some people work out and do IF. Other people eat a day and take a day off from eating. Find which IF works for you and then follow it!
Understand what IF is
If you just start doing intermittent fasting and don’t understand what it is, you could create a disaster. Don’t just jump in without understanding the purpose of IF. With intermittent fasting you will go anywhere from 12 hours to 24 hours without food, going with your own discretion. Intermittent fasting can balance your blood sugars, help you consume fewer calories, and even help you lose weight.
Start slow and then go big
When you’re first trying out intermittent fasting, you may be shy about not eating. Not many people forget to eat, right? Well, with intermittent fasting, you have to start slow and then go big. Maybe the first week, you do a 12 hour fast and from there you do an 18-24 hour fast. Sometimes doing this lifestyle abruptly isn’t the best thing for everyone. Humans give up so easily when something looks or feels hard. Humans also spend a lot of time on food. They spend time thinking about food, prepping food, and cooking food. Almost to a point where we overeat. Sticking with intermittent fasting will give you a healthier relationship with food. You will quickly realize how much you overeat and that food isn’t everything. You’ll also learn to enjoy food. Stick with your intermittent fasting and you will see results. Stick with it, but also be consistent. You can do this!
Paired with the keto diet, intermittent fasting can be a great approach to weight loss. You will be able to do the Keto diet when you’re not fasting. They go very well hand in hand and many people have lost weight combining these two ways of eating.
