The Best Keto Bacon and Cheese Omelette (Insanely Easy and Delicious)
If you’re looking for a breakfast idea, this keto and low carb bacon and cheese omelette is perfect. It’s easy to make and tastes delicious!
Bacon and cheese omelette is one of my favorite breakfasts. It tastes amazing, it’s quick to make, and I usually have all the ingredients at home already. To prepare this tasty keto breakfast you’ll need eggs, bacon, cheese, salt and pepper. Plus any other additional ingredients that you want to include, such as onion or tomato.
Eggs and bacon are both very ketogenic foods – they will keep hunger at bay for hours – and the cheese will add even more fat. So it’s a great macro combination.
Why do you add heavy cream to the eggs?
Some would say that you should use a splash of water in your eggs to make them fluffier, but I have not had success when I’ve used water in the past.
Every time that I have used heavy cream, my eggs are fluffier and it also adds more healthy fats to the recipe which makes it’s easier to stay within your daily macros.
How many eggs go into an omelette?
As a rule of thumb, I usually use 2 eggs per omelette. For this specific recipe, I actually used 2 with a splash of heavy cream to give the omelette some extra volume and added healthy fats.
You can choose to use 2 or even 1 egg if you prefer a smaller breakfast.
Are omelettes good for dieting?
It’s a great idea to have omelettes for breakfast if you are on a low carb or keto diet. They are very easy to make, they taste delicious, and eggs are one of the lowest calorie foods out there.
What can I put in an omelette?
You can add basically anything to your omelette. Some of my favorite add-ons are spinach, mushrooms, and onion. You can also make a cheese and tomato omelette which is delicious (if you want something different than a bacon and cheddar omelet)!
Do I have to add heavy cream?
No, you don’t need to add heavy cream if you want a lower-calorie meal. Just add a splash of water to your eggs or skip it altogether.
Bacon and cheese omelette is great for people who are on a low carb diet such as the ketogenic diet, because it’s super simple to make and you get enough protein from the eggs and bacon.
What side dishes can I have with this omelette?
You can choose whatever you like to eat your omelette with. Some options are sauteed mushrooms, sliced avocado, or a spring mix salad with a lemon vinaigrette.
