Simple keto dinner recipe that’s made with ground beef! Easy, peasy!

This recipe is super low carb because I make it with keto friendly ingredients.

I usually serve it with vegetables or a side salad. Sometimes I will use the keto friendly noodles you find at Costco called Healthy Noodles. They are mostly fiber and definitely keto diet friendly.

Yes! Beef Stroganoff freezes very well! It will keep in the freezer for up to 3 months. Just make sure to put it in an airtight container or a freezer ziplock without any air. Defrost and reheat when ready to consume it.

Can Beef Stroganoff be made without mushrooms?

Yes! You can! Just omit the mushrooms from the recipe and prepare is instructed.

How to thicken Beef Stroganoff?

This recipe includes cream cheese along with sour cream. The cream cheese will thicken the sauce perfectly! No need for xanthan gum or any other thickening agent. The more cream cheese you add the thicker the sauce will be.

How to make Beef Stroganoff with Cream of Mushroom soup?

I wouldn’t suggest making a keto version of Beef Stroganoff with Cream of Mushroom soup because it contains flours that are not keto friendly or low carb.

How to Make Keto Beef Stroganoff with Hamburger

Step 1 – fry the ground beef and onion.

Step 2 – add the seasonings.

Step 3 – add the remaining ingredients to complete the easy beef stroganoff recipe.

Step 4 – steam the vegetables.

Step 5 – serve warm and enjoy!

  • Dice the onion.
  • In a large frying pan over medium heat, add the olive oil and saute the onion.
  • Add the ground beef and mix and browned.
  • Add the cream cheese, sour cream, and seasonings. Mix and cook until the cream cheese and fully softened and incorporated into the meat mixture.
  • Add the bone broth, mushrooms and shredded cheese.
  • Stir and continue cooking until the mushrooms are soft and the sauce has thickened.
  • Serve over steam vegetables or keto friendly noodles.
  • Enjoy!
