Keto Broccoli Tots Recipe
Who knew you could make broccoli taste just like regular tater tots as you remember them and the kids would love them! That’s exactly what happened when we made this keto broccoli tots recipe! We used broccoli but you can also use cauliflower in the recipe too!
We used the riced broccoli bag you find prepared for you in the freezer section of your local grocery store. You can use fresh broccoli too. You would use a food processor to grind the broccoli florets until it’s small enough to resemble rice and then steam it in the microwave just until soft. You will need to place the fresh riced broccoli in a microwave-safe bowl and add a couple of tablespoons of water so it will steam when it cooks. Be sure to cover it and only cook it for about 2 1/2 to 3 minutes on high. It’s really easy to make your own riced broccoli and cauliflower with a food processor.
The egg we used in this recipe acts like a binder to hold the ingredients together. We’ve also added any shredded cheese of your choice and it comes out amazing too! You can add 1/2 cup of cheese too! We are trying to make our recipes with less cheese since that seems to be the one ingredient that is causing a stall on your keto weight loss journey.
The dipping sauce in the recipe is optional but so good! If you don’t want to use mayo, you can also use unsweetened Greek yogurt. It tastes really good too!
Keto Broccoli Tots Recipe Ingredients
- 1 – 12 ounce bag of riced broccoli (microwavable bag)
- 3 tablespoons almond flour
- 2 teaspoons onion powder
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon pink salt
- 1 egg
Dipping Sauce
- 1/2 Dukes Mayo
- 1/2 sriracha
Keto Broccoli Tots Recipe Instructions
- Microwave riced broccoli as instructed on the bag
- Drain all the liquid and pat dry.
- Add all of the seasonings, egg, and almond flour. Mix well until fully combined.
- Shape like tots and bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes or until golden brown.
