Halloumi fries have always been one of my favorite snacks. They’re crispy and cheesy, and they taste great with just about any dipping sauce. Plus, they’re really easy to make at home, which is a bonus.

I decided to make a batch of halloumi fries for myself the other day and they were delicious!

Homemade Crispy Halloumi Fries

Ingredients You’ll Need

  • 1 1/4 cup almond flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 18 ounces halloumi cheese
  • 1/3 cup coconut flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • avocado mayo
  • 1 ripe avocado
  • 1/3 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

How to Make Halloumi Fries

Step 1 – The Basics

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Prepare a baking tray with baking paper or a drizzle of oil.

Chop halloumi into 30 sticks.

Step 2 – Mix It Up

Place coconut flour in a small bowl with smoked paprika.

Beat one of the eggs (you may or may not need the second one; that’s why it is best to just start with one of them), and add 1/2 teaspoon of salt.

Place almond flour in another small bowl.

Step 3 – Batter Up

Coat the halloumi sticks first in coconut flour, shake them to remove excess. Then dip them in the beaten egg. And at the end in almond flour until it is well coated.

Place halloumi sticks in the prepared baking tray and drizzle 2 tablespoons of olive oil on top of them.

Step 4 – Bake to Perfection

Bake them for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown on top.

Notes

Tips
You could make these fries in an Air Fryer; just make sure not to overlap them. Cook them at 400 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes.
Replace coconut flour with regular flour and almond flour with panko for a non-keto/low carb diet.
