Traditional Greek Salad Recipe
We just made a fantastic Traditional Greek Salad Recipe! This is a recipe we usually add as a side dish to some grilled chicken or steak but you can make it a full meal by adding any protein you want to this salad. Using leftover proteins from the day before makes it more enjoyable to eat them in a greek salad recipe just like this!
This healthy greek salad recipe is loaded with flavor when you use the dressing recipe below. You can double or even triple that recipe as needed too.
Feel free to change up the ingredients in this recipe if you want. For example, I add a couple of different types of olives on occasion too. I might also add some sliced and diced salami too.
There are many ways to make a traditional greek salad but this is our low carb way to enjoy this dish.
In our simple greek salad, we use fresh herbs from our garden but you can use dried seasonings as well.

You wanna hear something funny? Ever since going keto or low carb I no longer use my pasta bowls as much but I always use them for my salads like this! I promise you that pasta bowls make the BEST salad bowls ever. Go ahead, change my mind. I doubt you can.
Traditional Greek Salad Recipe Ingredients
- 2 cups cherry tomatoes
- 1 garlic clove
- 1 small green bell pepper
- 5 ounces feta cheese
- 1 cucumber
- 1/2 red onion
- 1/3 cup kalamata olives
- A handful of mint leaves
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley
Dressing
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 tablespoons red wine vinegar
- 1 tablespoon dijon mustard
- Salt and ground pepper to taste
Traditional Greek Salad Recipe Instructions
- Remove the tips of the cucumber, scoop out the center and chop it into 1/2 inches slices that will create half-moons.
- Chop cherry tomatoes into halves and onion into thin slices.
- Chop the green bell pepper into bite-size pieces and mince garlic.
- Chop feta cheese into cubes or crumbled.
- Layer all the ingredients of the salad in a big bowl.
- Whisk all the ingredients of the dressing and toss the salad with it.
- Serve the salad in individual bowls and enjoy it immediately.
Tips
- This salad is best while fresh, anyways, leftovers last in the fridge for up to 3 days.
- If you want a full meal, add some chicken!
