Keto Sour Cream Old Fashioned Donuts
Miss donuts on keto? Not anymore! These almond flour-based Keto Sour Cream Old Fashioned Donuts are light, fluffy and tastes just like the cake donuts we all know and love!
Keto Sour Cream Old Fashioned Donuts Recipe Ingredients
- 2 cups almond flour
- 3/4 cup Lakanto Confectioner’s blend sugar substitute
- 2 scoops collagen peptides (about 21 grams)
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
- 2 eggs
- 4 egg whites (or 8 tbs egg whites)
- 1/2 cup sour cream
Glaze:
- 1/4 cup butter, unsalted
- 2 tbsp heavy whipping cream
- 1/4 cup Lakanto Confectioner’s Blend sugar substitute
- 1 tsp vanilla
Keto Sour Cream Old Fashioned Donuts Recipe Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
- Grease a donut silicone baking sheet.
- In a medium bowl combine the almond flour, sugar, baking powder, nutmeg, and collagen peptides.
- In a separate bowl, combine the eggs and egg whites. Mix the eggs until they are frothy.
- Add the sour cream to the egg mixture and mix it until it’s fully combined.
- Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until it’s fully combined.
- Bake the donuts at 350 degrees for 22 to 25 minutes or until they are fully done and golden brown. You can stick a toothpick in the donut and if it comes out clean, it’s done.
- Place the donuts on a wire rack.
- While the donuts are baking, create the glaze.
- Melt butter in a small saucepan and add the Swerve and heavy cream.
- Simmer over medium heat for 5 minutes, or until slightly thickened.
- Stir in vanilla.
- Drizzle the hot icing over the donuts.
