Keto Holiday Baked Brie Appetizer Recipe Ingredients

For the Fat Head Dough

  • 4 1/2 cups mozzarella cheese
  • 2 tablespoons cream cheese
  • 2 1/4 cup almond flour
  • 3 egg

For the Sausage Filling

  • 1 pound sage sausage browned and drained
  • 1 egg whisked
  • 1/3 cup of coconut flour
  • 2/3 cup of almond flour
  • 8 oz of cheddar cheese shredded
  • 1/4 cup of grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon of butter melted and cooled
  • 2 teaspoon of baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt
  • 1 tablespoon of parsley flakes
  • 3 tablespoons of sour cream
  • parsley for garnish

For the cheese and garnish

  • 1 – 8 ounce wheel of Brie
  • Rosemary sprigs, as needed
  • Assorted olives

Keto Holiday Baked Brie Appetizer Recipe Instructions

For the Fathead Dough

  1. Melt mozzarella & cream cheese in the microwave. I do about 45 seconds, remove from microwave and stir and pop back in for another 45 seconds.
  2. Add in almond flour and egg until combined.
  3. Place dough on parchment paper. Top with the second piece of parchment paper and roll out until it’s about 1/4″ thick.
  4. Use a round cookie or biscuit cutter. I used a 3″ for this recipe for a smaller ball. You can use a larger one if you prefer.

For the Sausage Balls

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. In a large bowl, mix all ingredients together.
  3. Roll sausage mixture into 1 inch balls.
  4. Place ball mixture into center of fathead dough and make a ball.
  5. Add to a well-greased pan and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a light golden color.

To Assemble

  1. Place 8 ounce wheel of Brie in the center of a pie plate.
  2. Bake until the Brie is bubbly, approximately 10 minutes.
  3. Once the Brie has been warmed, place baked fathead stuffed sausage balls around the outer edge to form a wreath.
  4. Place back in the oven for 5 minutes to reheat (if needed).
  5. Garnish with rosemary sprigs and assorted olives.
  6. Serve and enjoy!
