Sugar Free Vanilla Latte (made without an espresso machine)
Here’s a really good sugar free vanilla latte recipe that is made without an espresso machine.
Prices have gone up so much that I have decided to perfect the best vanilla latte recipe that’s easy and made without an expensive espresso machine.
I did end up purchasing this milk frother I purchased off of Amazon.
Actually, I purchased another milk frother just before this purchase but it’s much smaller and it doesn’t create nearly as much froth as this one so I like it way better.
This is the large milk frother on the left and the smaller milk frother on the right:
This is the inside of the white (smaller) milk frother. It holds 1 cup of liquid to heat the milk or 1/2 cup of milk to froth it. It will not froth and heat milk at the same time because it is too small. You can heat the milk first and then froth more. This is why I like the bigger frother better because it does both at the same time.
This is the larger milk frother I bought on Amazon:
This shows the unit in action with the clear lid off while in use:
This photo shows the smaller unit with the coffee and syrup I use:
I’m pretty picky about my coffee. This will probably be an unpopular opinion but I really don’t like the taste of Starbucks coffee. It taste like it’s burnt.
I use Nescafe Instant coffee! I buy this 10.5 oz Nescafe Dark Roast Instant Coffee off of Amazon too. It’s rare to find the big bottles of coffee like this at the local grocery stores. They usually only carry the smaller ones. The 10.5 oz bottle has 150 servings!
The other thing to consider is what sweetener you will use, if any. I like a vanilla latte and I really like it sweetened. I use Jordan’s Skinny syrups. They don’t leave an aftertaste and they don’t spike my glucose. It’s a win-win for me!
If you want to learn how to understand your own glucose spikes, you should read this article: Top Weight Loss Tips from a Registered Dietitian because it will explain how I test mine and what I use to test it.
The last thing to consider is the foam topping or a sugar free whipped cream topping or both. I really enjoy a sugar free whipped cream topping so I use this Whipped Cream Dispenser set to make my own whipped cream with my own sugar free syrups too! It’s really simple to use. You add the heavy cream and the syrup you want to sweetened it and that’s it! I’m pretty sure I’ve done a video on the process and posted it on our Keto Friendly Recipes Facebook page before.

I might have even made a video on TikTok Keto Friendly recipes page too!
This recipe will make one of the best sugar free lattes you will ever try! It will also save you some cash if you are used to going to your local coffee shop too!
Sugar Free Vanilla Latte Ingredients
- 1 1/2 teaspoons Nescafe Dark Roast Instant Coffee (add more to make it even stronger)
- 1/2 cup hot water
- 8 oz milk (can be 2% milk, unsweetened almond milk, unsweetened coconut milk or any milk you prefer)
- Jordan’s Skinny Syrups -vanilla or I like Butter Toffee flavor too. (I use between 2 and 3 pumps)
- Optional topping: sugar free whipping cream
Sugar Free Vanilla Latte Instructions
- Start by heating your milk in the milk frother because this takes the longest time.
- In a large 12 oz coffee cup, add a 1/2 cup of water and heat it in the microwave. I use a Keurig to heat my water. I press the smallest cup option which dispenses 1/2 cup of hot water. I don’t add a k-cup.
- Add 1 1/2 teaspoons of instant coffee and 2 to 3 pumps of skinny syrup to your hot water and stir.
- When your milk has been heated and frothed it will beep when it’s done. Pour the hot milk and froth over the hot coffee water.
- Add sugar free whipped cream and enjoy it hot or warm.
