This sandwich evolved from our spectacular Keto 90 Second Bread French Toast Recipe, which is superb all on it’s own. Another great option for a simple breakfast plate!

Make one, try it out.. Then you will want to make several batches of this delicious breakfast sandwich to freeze for a convenient and filling breakfast!

Breakfast screams a beautiful combination of sweet and savory. A good sugar free syrup is almost mandatory. I’ve found a serious love for Lakanto Maple Syrup and use it all the time now. Trust me, it is worth a taste!

Understandably, we all feel rushed in those early hours. Oh, the ease of popping into that drive thru, when mornings are hectic and time isn’t on your side. Even if you only have an extra ten minutes, these are super quick to throw together.

I found that my daughter really enjoys helping meal prepping on the weekends. She especially loves making her own food when she can and doesn’t mind heating up her own breakfast while we are getting ready.

Makes: 1 sandwich

 

Keto Breakfast Maple Griddle Sandwich Recipe Ingredients

 

(1 – Keto 90 Second Bread French Toast Recipe

1 tbs Bacon Grease

1 tbs Coconut Flour by Bob’s Red Mill

1 tbs Psyllium Husk Powder

1 tbs Lakanto Confectioners

1/2 tsp Baking Powder

1/8 tsp Himalayan Fine Pink Salt

1 Large Egg

2 tbs Lakanto Maple Syrup

2 Turkey Sausage Patties

1 Large Egg

1 oz Cheese (flavor of your choice)

 

Keto Breakfast Maple Griddle Sandwich Recipe Instructions

  1. Choose your microwave safe bowl or mug.
  2. Melt the bacon grease (or butter/oil) until liquid.
  3. Add all dry ingredients and stir until no lumps.
  4. Add egg and syrup, mix until well incorporated.
  5. Microwave 90 seconds, remove and let cool slightly.
  6. Pop out the bread on a board and slice in half.
  7. Heat a fry pan with more grease or butter and toast the bread until browned.
  8.  *Alternatively- this can be cooked in a mini waffle maker, in two batches*
  9. Cook the egg in a fry pan, or microwave in an egg dish.
  10. Melt the cheese over the egg.
  11. Assemble the sausage over top of the bread.
  12. Then add the egg/cheese and top with second bread.
  13. Enjoy!

Notes:

You can substitute butter/oil for the bacon grease, but I highly recommend you try it with the grease! It is a delicious fat, that adds so much depth to the flavor.

Bacon is a wonderful option to add for this, or substitute for the sausage. I love to fix it up with both!

If you don’t already reserve your bacon grease from cooking, you can buy a jar of Pork Lard also.
