The crust on this salmon made in the air fryer is a combination of Bleu cheese and Feta cheese crumbles. The feta is dry and has a nice crunch after it’s baked. The Bleu cheese has a creamy texture that is loaded with flavor after it’s baked. The two baked together made the perfect texture and flavor for a low carb crust.

Frequently Asked Questions
What size air fryer do you use?
I use a 7 quart air fryer and it works out perfectly for my family of 4.
Why do you use a deep dish baking pan in the air fryer?
The deep dish helps to hold in sauces without spilling over. There are some recipes that I prefer sauce with the protein or vegetable.
You can use a disposable aluminum pan or a small cake pan just like I used in this recipe. The cake pan is reusable and it’s easy to wash because it is non stick. You save money in the long run by using a cake pan.
Does the air fryer cook the cabbage until it’s soft and the salmon perfectly at the same time?
Yes! It does! The cabbage get’s nice and soft in this recipe.
How do I know if the salmon is cooked properly in the air fryer?
Salmon is cooked perfectly when it reaches an internal temperature of 125 degrees. However, the FDA states you should cook salmon to an internal temperature of 145 degrees but this will leave you with a dry filet.
Be sure to check the temp at the thickest part of the salmon.

Ingredients You’ll Need
- salmon fillet

- 1 tbs Bleu cheese crumbles
How to Make/Prepare Low Carb Crusted Salmon
Step 1 – Assemble the ingredients in a pan.
Start by making sure your salmon is defrosted first. I purchase the salmon that is individually wrapped from Costco. I will place a frozen salmon patty in the refrigerator in the morning and let it defrost there until I need it.
Choose a pan that fits in your air fryer with edges to hold the cabbage and oil!
Add the salmon on top of the cabbage.
Add the cherry tomatoes.
Drizzle olive oil over the vegetables and salmon.
Sprinkle the Bleu cheese and feta over the top of the salmon and some on the cabbage too if you would like. It creates a nice little crust.
Step 2 – Bake the Salmon in the air fryer.
Bake at 350 for 9 minutes.
Sprinkle with salt to taste.
Serve warm and enjoy.
