Frequently Asked Questions
How do you grill chicken without drying it out?
Well, there are a few tricks that you can use to keep your chicken juicy and flavorful. And these same tricks can be applied to most other meats as well, such as steak, pork chops and fish.
Use a marinade – A marinade is a great way to add flavor and moisture to your meat. It can be as simple as olive oil, lemon juice and garlic or a sugar free Italian dressing. Just remember to use a marinade that is acidic because the acid helps break down the proteins in your meat, allowing them to relax and retain moisture. You should also allow enough time for the meat to soak up all of the goodness.
Use butter – Butter is a great way to add moisture and flavor. Just brush it on the meat as you are grilling and you will have moist grilled chicken that is sure to please.
Grill over indirect heat – you can sear on direct heat, but move the chicken to indirect heat after flash grilling each side. By searing the chicken breast quickly over the heat, it creates a barrier that will allow for the moisture to stay in.
Let the chicken rest – meat rest for at least 10 minutes after you take it off the grill – this allows all of those delicious juices to settle back into the chicken and prevent them from leaking out onto your plate.
Don’t over grill your meat – Use a high-quality grilling thermometer! That will ensure that the chicken is cooked all the way through, without being overcooked or undercooked.
How do you keep chicken from sticking to the grill?
The best way to keep chicken from sticking to the grill is to make sure that the grill is nice and hot before you add the chicken. You can also brush the chicken with oil or butter, which will create a barrier between the chicken and the grill.
Should you marinate chicken before grilling?
There is no one-size-fits-all answer to this question, but marinating your chicken before grilling can definitely add flavor and moisture. If you do choose to marinate, be sure to use an acidic marinade and allow enough time for the chicken to soak it up.
What is the best way to grill chicken?
There are a few different ways that you can grill chicken, but one of the most effective methods is to use a high-quality grilling thermometer to ensure that the chicken is cooked all the way through. Chicken needs to reach a temperature of at least 165 degrees to be fully cooked.
