German Chocolate Chaffle Cake Recipe

German Chocolate Chaffle Cake Ingredients

  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tablespoon melted butter
  • 1 tablespoon cream cheese softened to room temperature
  • 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder or unsweetened raw cacao powder
  • 2 tablespoons almond flour
  • 2 teaspoons coconut flour
  • 2 tablespoons Pyure granulated sweetener blend
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon instant coffee granules dissolved in 1 tablespoon hot water
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 pinches salt

German Chocolate Chaffle Cake Filling Ingredients

  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons Pyure granulated sweetener blend
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon caramel or maple extract
  • 1/4 cup chopped pecans
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened flaked coconut
  • 1 teaspoon coconut flour


Chaffle Instructions

  • Preheat mini Dash waffle iron until thoroughly hot.
  • In a medium bowl, whisk all ingredients together until well combined.
  • Spoon a heaping 2 tablespoons of batter into waffle iron, close and cook 3-5 minutes, until done.
  • Remove to a wire rack.
  • Repeat 3 times.

Filling Instructions

  • In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine the egg yolk, heavy cream, butter, and sweetener.
  • Simmer slowly, stirring constantly for 5 minutes.
  • Remove from heat and stir in extract, pecans, flaked coconut, and coconut flour.


Assembly: Spread one-third of the filling in between each of 2 layers of chaffles and the remaining third on top chaffle and serve.
